Comments about Staples SPL-DXC8G Cross Cut 8 Sheet P-4 Security Paper Shredder with 13 L Bin:
Very quiet in operation compared to ones I have had before. Has absolutely no problem at all with staples.
I had struggled to find a shredder at a reasonable price, taking delivery charges into account. Every time I found one that looked promising there were a number of negative reviews for it also. The cheaper Staples own brand model (unavailable) had plenty of good reviews, so I decided to take a chance on this one.
So far I am very pleased with it. I mostly shred receipts with staples in, and utility bills, invoices, junk mail, etc. and it copes with these very well. It is a bit slow at catching the paper when you first feed it in, and I would think 4 sheets at a max will keep it going for a lot longer. The reverse button seems to clear anything caught in the teeth quite easily. As I have been cautious (I have broken 2 shredders previously) about feeding it too much at a time, the red warning light (and automatic cutout) has not come on at all.
All in all absolutely fine for home use, and probably ok for an office with light shredding needs.
