Too many issues

Comments about Stewart Superior 32" Tower Fan:

When I first got it, I tested it out before mounting it onto the base and it produced a loud clanging noise. I figured I should mount it then test it again... Same thing. Not wanting to deal with the agrro of returning it, I opened it up and determined the noise was coming from the spinning cylinder fan hitting the plastic that is meant to direct the airflow outwards. After removing the three screws holding it in place and slighty shifting it out of the way, I manually spun the cylinder and it spun without any collision. Assembled it back together and it works relatively fine now. However, the timer does not work. I can set it to whatever time setting and it won't count down.

Even when the 0 button is pressed, if the oscillation mode is down, it'll continue swaying side to side.

This is my first fan tower, and i do like it's slimness to the typical fans, but i find it considerably louder and that's without the timer ticking away, on it's lowest setting and oscillation off.
