"Saving the planet won't be easy, but together, it is possible" This is Acer's mantra, it has inspired our Earthion initiative, which sets out a series of ambitious targets to help reduce and offset the environmental impact of our business and the products we produce.
The eco-friendly Aspire Vero is the first in a new line of products that embodies Acer's commitment to a more sustainable business model. We were determined to design a laptop that would have less of environmental impact – both in terms of its construction and also during its subsequent lifespan, use and disposal.
To achieve this, the Vero's chassis has been constructed using 30% PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic, which is plastic that has already been used and would otherwise have been destined for landfill, incineration or, even worse, polluting the planet for hundreds of years while it gradually decomposed. In total, the Vero uses 170g of PCR plastic in every laptop. By using recycled plastics, we were also able to save over 20% in CO2 emissions compared to a regular laptop as well as reducing the need for new plastics to be manufactured, in turn reducing the need for more fossil fuels to be produced to make the plastic.
As well as reducing the carbon footprint of the construction of the Vero, it is also designed to help minimise its environmental impact later in its life-cycle as well. With this in mind, the Vero's chassis features standard screws that are easily accessible, meaning you get easy access to its internals. This helps improve both the reparability and upgradeability of the Vero, meaning you can keep using it for years to come when you might otherwise have ended up needing to replace a less sustainably-designed laptop. Also, the Vero's plastic body doesn't feature any paints, dyes or inks that have the potential to end up leaching toxic substances into the environment.
The packaging for the Vero reflect these aspects of the laptop as well. The box the Vero comes in is made from 80% recycled cardboard while the inner tray is made from 100% recycled paper. Additionally paper sleeves have been used for accessories such as the charger where previously we would've used plastic bags. The box is also designed so that it can be folded into a laptop stand, meaning that the packaging can be re-used rather than simply disposed of - however if you no longer need it, it is 100% recyclable as well. Finally, all the text and graphics printed on the packaging use either water-based or soy inks, so there are no harmful chemicals used.
When it comes to use the Vero, you get a laptop that's every bit as powerful and capable as it is environmentally friendly. Inside the recycled plastic chassis is a powerful 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM, perfect for handling large documents, multitasking or even some light photo editing, all without slowing down. You also get a 512GB SSD, which gives you plenty of space for all your documents, media, and files without compromising on performance.
The 15.6" Full HD IPS display combines great detail & sharpness with vivid colours and wide viewing angles - ideal for both work and play. Additionally, the Vero features Acer's BlueLightShield technology which helps reduce eye strain and fatigue, particularly when using it for an extended period of time.
And the Vero also comes with a full complement of connectivity options, for maximum convenience. Integrated dual-band Wi-Fi 6 not only allows you to get online easily but helps to minimise drop-outs and lag as well, while the 3 USB ports and HDMI port ensure you can connect a wide range of accessories and external displays without any hassle.

All our orders are dispatched via courier networks and do not travel via parcel post. The parcel rate charges are often amplified for orders in excess of 15kg from all the couriers we use. As a result we have to reflect this in the delivery charges we make to our customers. Orders that contain products which at dispatch will be more than 20kg weight will be subject to a Heavy and Large delivery charge.
Products likely to be impacted by this higher rate parcel send are: boxes of paper, multiple quantities of water, desk stands or furniture and volume packs of cleaning supplies. This higher rate carriage charge will be indicated in your basket as a heavy or large delivery charged at £8.95.
